Spring Candle

Our candles are made using a high-quality natural soy wax, sustainably sourced by our supplier from Europe, together with pure essential oils carefully selected to create each Wye Wicks fragrance. 

We believe beautiful home fragrance doesn't have to be complicated.  We don't use synthetic fragrance oils, artificial colourings or scent enhancers, allowing the natural character of the essential oils to shine through.  

Our soy wax is palm oil-free, biodegradable and vegan-friendly.  We also use a small amount of palm oil-free stearic acid in our candle formulation to support the performance and structure of the wax. 

Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in our Herefordshire studio and presented in a recyclable glass jar with a polished silver lid. 

Our small candles burn for approximately 15-20 hours, medium candles for 30-35 hours and large candles for 40-45 hours, depending on how the candle is burned and cared for.

As a natural vegetable wax, soy can respond to changes in temperature.  You may occasionally notice frosting, slight variations in colour or changes in appearance.  These are natural characteristics of soy wax and do not affect the fragrance or performance of your candle. 

On first use, allow your candle to burn long enough for a good melt pool to begin forming across the surface.  For our small candles, we recommend burning for up to two hours, and for our medium and large candles, around three to four hours. 

Depending on the fragrance, the wax may not reach the very edge of the container on the first burn.  This is completely normal and can gradually develop over the second or third burn.  

Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 0.5 cm and remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax.  

For the best fragrance experience and an even, steady burn, avoid burning your candle for longer than the recommended time and always allow it to cool completely before relighting.  

We want you to enjoy your candle safely.  Please follow these simple precautions whenever you use it. 

Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 0.5cm and remove any debris from the wax, including matches and wick trimmings. 

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from draughts, curtains, furniture, bedding and anything else that could catch fire.  

Keep candles away from direct sunlight, heat sources, open windows, fans and air vents, as moving air can cause an uneven flame and increase the risk of soot or overheating.  

Never leave a burning candle unattended.  Keep out of reach of children and pets and extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.  

Do not move the candle while it is lit or while the wax is hot.  Allow the jar and wax to cool completely before handling or moving. 

Keep burning candles well apart from each other and away from other heat sources.  

Always stop burning your candle when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar to help prevent the glass from overheating.  

If the flame becomes unusually large, starts to flicker excessively, smokes or produces soot, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool and trim the wick before relighting. 

Do not use a candle if the glass jar is cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged. 

Our candles and botanical wax melts are made using a natural soy wax that is manufactured in the UK by our supplier using soy sourced from non-genetically modified producers in Europe.  It is biodegradable, vegan-friendly, and palm oil-free.  Our supplier has also confirmed that the soy is sourced with sustainability in mind and does not contribute to deforestation.  

We purchase our essential oils from a reputable family-run business that we have worked with for many years.  We choose high-quality vegan-friendly essential oils that are 100% pure and unadulterated. Our supplier works with established producers around the world and bottles the oils here in the UK. 

Essential oils are precious ingredients.  Producing even a small amount can require a significant quantity of flowers, leaves, peel, wood or other botanical material, so responsible sourcing really matters to us.  

We do not knowingly use essential oils derived from botanicals that are not considered threatened or endangered.  We also avoid oils from species or sources where there are recognised sustainability or conservation concerns, including certain Rosewood, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Bay Laurel and Vanilla species.

Where we use Eucalyptus and Cedarwood, we carefully select species that are not considered threatened or endangered species, including Eucalyptus globulus and Juniperus virginiana. 

The glass jars and steel lids used for our candles can be recycled.  The jars can also be repurposed and make lovely dessert jars, while the lids are perfectly sized to pop onto drink glasses in the summer to help keep out wasps.  

We use natural kraft packaging for our candles, which can be recycled once the label has been removed.  Our wax melt packaging is also recyclable, again once the label has been removed.

Although the wax used for our wax melts is biodegradable, we recommend reusing or repurposing any leftover wax where possible.  If you are local to us, used wax can be donated to Brecon Creative Wales, where it is repurposed into pinecone firelighters.  

The essential oils used in this product contain the following fragrance allergens: Alpha, Alpha 6, 6-Tetramethylbicyclo (3.1.1), Hept-2-ene-2-propionaldehyde, Caryophyllene acetate, Eucalyptol, Geraniol, Geranyl acetate, Linalool acetage, Nerolidol (cis), Nerolidol, Neryl acetate and alpha-Pinene.

These constituents naturally occur within the essential oils used in the blend.
